HaulHQvsJobber

Jobber was built for every trade.
We were built for yours.

Jobber is the biggest name in field service software and it is a genuinely good product. It also has no junk removal features, no dumpster inventory, and a price that steps up every time your crew does. Here is the whole thing, with their numbers straight off their pricing page.

The short version

Looking for a Jobber alternative built for hauling?

Here is who each one is actually for.

Pick Jobber if

You run more than hauling

Jobber is a multi trade field service platform with the deepest ecosystem in the category.

  • You do landscaping or cleaning or HVAC alongside the truck
  • You want an app store, an accountant who already knows the tool, and integrations for everything
  • You want an AI receptionist answering your phone
  • Your team size is stable and you know exactly what tier you sit in
Pick HaulHQ if

Hauling is the business

Built for junk removal and dumpster rental only. Nothing in it is there for a plumber.

  • You price junk by load size and you rent cans out
  • You want customers booking at a real price without calling you
  • You add and drop crew seasonally and do not want the bill to move
  • You would rather pay per job than pay for February
The honest one line: if you need software that understands a 1/4 load and a 20 yard can, Jobber does not have it and is not trying to. If you need software that understands every other trade you run, we do not have it and are not trying to.
Price, head to head

Jobber prices your team. We price your jobs.

Jobber does not charge per user. It charges by team size band, and each band has its own ladder. Move your crew size and watch what happens.

What we are not counting, so you know we are not cooking it. Card processing is separate on both sides and Jobber is cheaper per swipe: they publish 2.9% + 30¢ all in, while HaulHQ adds a 1.5% platform fee on top of Stripe's own rate. Our 1.5% stops at the $149 per-service-type cap and they publish no ceiling on theirs, so the gap closes as your card volume grows. We also left every Jobber add on switched off, because you do not need any of them to match us. If you turn all three on, that is Jobber's number, not our framing of it.

The other side

Where Jobber is stronger

Four places they beat us. If any of these is your deciding factor, go buy Jobber. We would rather you be happy there than unhappy here.

01 Brand and ecosystem

They are the safe choice, and that is worth something

Jobber is the biggest name in field service. Your bookkeeper has probably used it. There are integrations, an app marketplace, community groups, and a decade of answers to your question already on the internet. We are new and we have none of that.

02 The phone

Their AI picks up. Ours does not

Our chatbot quotes off your price book and books the job, but it lives in chat and text. Jobber's $29/mo AI Receptionist answers an actual ringing phone, takes the request and drops it on the calendar. If your leads call instead of type, that is a real gap and $29 is not much to close it.

03 Card processing

Cheaper per swipe than we are

Jobber publishes 2.9% + 30¢ on cards, all in, on every tier. HaulHQ charges a 1.5% platform fee on top of Stripe's rate. Our 1.5% platform fee stops at the $149 per-service-type cap and they publish no ceiling on theirs, so the gap closes as your card volume grows, but on any single transaction they are cheaper. That is just true.

04 Breadth

If hauling is only part of what you do

Jobber covers trades far beyond hauling. If you also mow lawns, do cleanouts and pressure washing, or run a second crew doing something else entirely, one Jobber account covers all of it. We only do junk and dumpsters and we are not adding your other trade.

The other other side

Where we win, for haulers specifically

Not "we are better." Better at this, for this operator.

WIN 01

The product knows what a load is

Load size pricing, cans with rental periods, both dispatch boards in one place. Jobber's junk removal page sells scheduling and invoicing that any trade gets. Search their pricing page for "dumpster" and you get nothing at all. On their junk removal page, the one mention is scheduling a delivery as a calendar event.

WIN 02

No seat anxiety, ever

Hire a second crew member on Jobber and Grow goes from $199 to $299 whether or not that person made you a dollar. Add your sixth and it is $399. Ours is $0 at every one of those numbers because we do not count your people.

WIN 03

February costs almost nothing

Jobber bills the same in your dead month as your best month. We bill $1.50 a job with the first 5 free at signup, and we stop at $149 per service type no matter how big June gets. You are never paying for software while the truck sits.

Straight answer

Some of you should buy Jobber

We would rather tell you now than have you cancel in month three.

Go with Jobber

  • Hauling is one of several trades you run
  • You want an AI receptionist answering calls this week
  • You need a specific integration and they have it
  • You are a solo operator at very high job volume with mostly cash payments, where a flat $49 can beat per job fees
  • Your team never changes size and you have already priced the tier

Go with HaulHQ

  • Junk removal, dumpsters, or both, and nothing else
  • You want the customer to see a price and book without calling
  • Your crew size moves with the season
  • Your months are uneven and a flat subscription in January hurts
  • You want two way texting without buying the $199 tier to get it
Switching

The practical questions

No, and if you read that somewhere, it is wrong. We had it wrong too until we checked their live site on July 15, 2026. Jobber has no per user price at all. The price is banded by team size, and each band includes a fixed number of users. The $29 that floats around the internet matches two real Jobber prices, their annual Core rate and their AI Receptionist add on, but neither is a seat charge.

Jobber offers both a one year commitment and a no commitment option, and advertises up to 25% off for paying annually. HaulHQ has no contract at all because there is no subscription to commit to. If you stop doing jobs, you stop paying.

Yes. Your customers, jobs, and invoices export from HaulHQ any time you want them, in a format you can hand to another vendor. We would rather lose a customer cleanly than hold anyone hostage. Ask Jobber the same question before you sign with anyone.

You can be running jobs the same day. Bring your customer list, set your load sizes and can inventory, and go. The first 5 jobs on a new account are free, so you can run both systems in parallel for your first week without paying us anything. It is a one time welcome, not a monthly allowance.

Then this page is wrong until we catch it, which is exactly why the date is at the top. We re-check the whole comparison set quarterly and re-date the page when anything moves. If you spot something stale, tell us and we will fix it.

Try it against them. Nothing to lose.

First 5 jobs free at signup, no card, no demo, no sales call. Run it next to Jobber for a week and keep whichever one your drivers actually open.
