HaulHQvsWorkiz

A big, capable platform.
You just cannot see the price.

Workiz runs 5,000 plus organizations across every trade, and their AI call answering and phone tools are genuinely ahead of anything we do on the phone. They are also built for field service in general, not for hauling in particular, and to see what a plan costs you have to book a demo. Here is what they publish, what they do not, and where each of us is the better call.

Workiz features and pricing verified July 20, 2026

The short version

Looking for a Workiz alternative? It is a purpose question, not a feature one

Workiz has more features than we do. The question is whether a general field service platform, priced by demo, fits a hauling business better than one built only for hauling, priced in the open.

Pick Workiz if

You want the deepest toolkit

A large, mature platform with an AI receptionist and a full phone system, and you do not mind a demo to price it.

  • You want an AI that answers calls, texts and emails and books jobs for you
  • You want a built-in business phone system across your team
  • You want route optimization, which we do not have
  • You want QuickBooks sync, Online or Desktop
  • You are comfortable booking a demo to find out what it costs
Pick HaulHQ if

You haul, and you want the price up front

Software built only for junk removal and dumpster rental, with every number on the pricing page.

  • You want to see the price before you talk to anyone
  • You want your customer to see a price and book, not request a callback
  • You want to pay for jobs done, with a monthly ceiling
  • You want unlimited users, not five seats and a per-seat fee after that
The honest one line: Workiz is a bigger, more general platform than we are, and in raw feature count they win. But they price by demo, they are built for field service at large rather than hauling specifically, and their booking flow never promises your customer a price. Those three are the whole comparison.
Price, head to head

What Workiz publishes, and what it does not

Workiz is not fully demo-gated the way some are. They publish a real plan-feature matrix and their per-seat overage prices. What they do not publish is the one number you actually want: what any plan costs. We checked on July 20.

The part that is not on the pricing page

Two terms worth reading before the demo

Workiz publishes their terms, and two clauses are worth knowing up front because the demo will not lead with them. Here they are, word for word.

Terms and ConditionsSections 13.2 and 14.5Last updated February 19, 2026Read July 17, 2026
Workiz reserves the right to implement an annual fee increase of up to 10% (ten percent), effective on the anniversary date of the applicable Sales Order.
Workiz will charge the Pro a non-refundable $25 fee for each Chargeback regardless of the outcome.
In plain terms: "Pro" is their term for the customer, so that second clause is about you. Your subscription can rise by up to 10% a year under the contract, and a disputed card payment costs you $25 per chargeback whether or not the dispute is decided in your favor. Neither is unusual for a platform this size, and neither is hidden. They are simply in the Terms rather than on the pricing page, and if you are comparing total cost of ownership they belong in the comparison. What Workiz's Terms do not state is the card or ACH percentage itself, which is delegated to a separate processor agreement.
The same questions, asked of us. Our fees are published on our pricing page: $1.50 a job and 1.5% on cards, on top of Stripe's rate, with job fees and card fees together capped at $149 per service type. Disputes run through Stripe's standard process, and HaulHQ adds no fee of its own on top. ACH carries no HaulHQ fee at all. Hold us to those numbers the same way you would hold them to their Terms, which is why theirs are quoted above rather than described.

What is actually in the box

Workiz marks come from their own industry, feature and pricing pages. Where a plan placement or a rate is not published, we say so rather than guess.

The other side

Where Workiz is stronger

This is the biggest, most mature platform we compare against, and in several places it is simply ahead of us. Six of them.

01 The AI

Genius Answering picks up the phone

Their AI answers calls, texts and emails and books the job straight into the calendar. That is a different and, on the answering side, more capable thing than our website chatbot, which quotes from your price book and books online. If missing calls is costing you jobs, theirs is built exactly for that and ours is not.

02 The phone system

A real business phone, built in

A full phone system on every tier, with call handling and tracking tied to the jobs. We do not have one. For a shop that lives on the phone, that alone can be the reason to choose them, and we are not going to pretend we match it.

03 Routing

Route optimization, which we lack entirely

Route planning and optimization, with fleet tracking on their top tier. We have no routing of any kind. If your trucks cover a wide area and route planning is a daily cost, that gap is real and it is ours.

04 The books

QuickBooks, Online and Desktop

Workiz syncs to both QuickBooks Online and Desktop. We do not sync at all, only export. If your accountant still runs Desktop, they are one of the very few here who support it, and that is a concrete advantage.

05 Maturity and scale

A large, proven platform

Workiz reports 5,000 plus organizations and 120,000 plus pros across the trades, with over 3,000 haulers on their junk removal page specifically. That is a bigger install base than ours and it comes with the polish and integration depth that scale buys. We are newer and more focused, which cuts both ways.

06 Breadth of tools

More features, full stop

AI lead capture, call insights and smart messaging, plus inventory management, service plans and fleet tracking on Ultimate. Workiz simply does more than we do, because they serve every trade and have been at it longer. If you want the widest toolkit and you are willing to price it by demo, that is them.

The other other side

What the difference buys

Four things. If none of them matters to you, Workiz is a strong platform and you should take the demo.

WIN 01

Built for hauling, not for everything

Load size pricing, dumpster rentals, a junk dispatch board, both verticals sharing one customer. Workiz is a general field service platform that a plumber, an electrician and a hauler all use. We do one industry, so the defaults, the fields and the flows already fit how you work instead of being configured to.

WIN 02

The price is on the page

Every number we charge is public and it is the same for you as for anyone else. Workiz prices all three tiers by demo. You can run our full cost in your head right now; theirs you can only get by giving them your number and taking the call.

WIN 03

Your customer sees a price

Ours books a first-time customer at a real number from your price book. Workiz's booking pages describe self-serve booking and deposits, but never that the customer sees a price first. On the leg that matters most for a hauler winning the job online, we can show it and they do not claim it.

WIN 04

Unlimited users and a ceiling

Every person in your shop is included, and your job fees and card fees together stop at $149 per service type. Workiz includes five users and then charges $55 to $65 a month for each one after, on annual billing, on top of a base price you cannot see. As your crew grows, the two models move in opposite directions.

Put plainly: Workiz is the more powerful platform and on AI call answering, phone and routing they are ahead of us, honestly. But you will price it by demo, it is built for field service in general rather than hauling in particular, and its booking flow never promises your customer a price. If the extra tools are what you need, take their demo. If a hauling-specific tool with the price in the open is what you need, that is us, and the difference is what this page has been about.
Straight answer

Some of you should take the Workiz demo

They are a serious platform with real advantages. We would rather point you there than have you outgrow a bad fit in month three.

Go with Workiz

  • An AI receptionist that answers and books is at the top of your list
  • You want a built-in business phone system
  • Route optimization is a daily need
  • You run QuickBooks Desktop and need that sync
  • You want the widest toolkit and are fine pricing it by demo
  • Hauling is one of several trades you run, not the only one

Go with HaulHQ

  • You want to see the full price before you talk to a salesperson
  • You want your customer to see a price and book online
  • You want to pay for jobs done, with a ceiling on the month
  • You want every user included, not five seats and a fee after
  • Junk removal and dumpster rental are the whole business
Questions

The ones you were going to ask anyway

We cannot tell you, because they do not publish it. On July 20 their pricing page showed "Request pricing" on all three tiers, Standard, Pro and Ultimate. What they do publish is the per-seat overage, $55 a month for an extra member on Standard and $65 on Pro, both on annual billing with the first five users included, and a full feature matrix showing which tier has what. The base plan prices themselves are behind a demo. Ours are all on our pricing page: $0 base, $1.50 a job, 1.5% on cards, no ACH fee, job fees and card fees together capped at $149 per service type.

Partly, and we want to be precise about it. They have a dedicated junk removal industry page, so junk is a clear yes. For dumpsters, the only claim we found was in a blog post saying Workiz offers dumpster tracking, with the workflow detail living in a help center that blocked our access. There is no dumpster product or industry page the way there is for junk. So we mark dumpster as partial rather than a full check. If you rent cans, ask them to show you the dumpster workflow directly in the demo before you decide.

At answering the phone, yes. Genius Answering picks up calls, texts and emails and books jobs into the calendar, and we do not have anything that answers a phone. Ours is a different tool: a website chatbot that quotes from your price book, negotiates within a floor you set, and books the job online. So they win on inbound call handling and we do a thing they do not, which is give a website visitor a real quote and close it there. Neither is a version of the other, and if the AI receptionist is what you want, theirs is genuinely strong and you should look at it.

Their booking pages do not say so. They describe self-serve online booking and taking deposits or prepayments, but nowhere do they state that a first-time customer sees a price before they book, the way ours does. We could not settle it from their site, so we mark that leg not published rather than counting it against them. It is also the single feature this whole comparison turns on for a hauler trying to win jobs online, so if it matters to you, make them demo it.

Bigger. They report more than 5,000 organizations and over 120,000 pros across all the trades they serve, with more than 3,000 haulers on their junk removal page specifically. We are newer and built only for hauling. That scale buys them polish, integrations and a track record we do not have yet. It also means their product answers to every trade at once, where ours answers only to yours. Which of those matters more is the real question on this page.

On our side, yes, any time: customers, jobs and invoices export to CSV. Ask Workiz the same question in the demo, and while you are there, ask them to put the base plan price in writing and to show you the dumpster workflow and the customer-facing price at booking. Those are the three things their published pages do not settle.

Try it without a demo.

First 5 jobs free at signup, no card, no call, and the full price is already on the page. If the tools say Workiz, take their demo with these questions in hand.
