Install the WordPress plugin

Install the HaulHQ Bridge plugin, connect it to your account with an API key, and confirm the connection.

The HaulHQ Bridge plugin is a thin connector. It does not store your data -- it pulls your catalog, reviews, service area and photos from HaulHQ and renders them on your WordPress site through shortcodes.

Install it

  1. 1In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New and search for HaulHQ Bridge.
  2. 2Install and activate it. A HaulHQ item appears in the WordPress admin menu.
  3. 3Alternatively, download it from wordpress.org/plugins/haulhq-bridge and upload the zip.

Connect it to your account

  1. 1In HaulHQ, go to Settings > WordPress. Your API key is there, along with a copy button.
  2. 2In WordPress, go to HaulHQ > Connection and paste the key.
  3. 3Click Test Connection. It should report your company name back to you. If it does not, the key is wrong or was truncated on copy.

Treat the API key like a password

It identifies your account to the plugin. If you are handing setup to a contractor, give them the key rather than your HaulHQ login -- see Working with a web developer.

There are four tabs. What each does is covered in Plugin settings: Connection (your API key), Shortcodes (a reference with copy buttons and a live preview), Styling (colors and fonts), and Cache (how long content is held before refetching).

Common mistakes

"I changed something in HaulHQ and the website did not update."

The plugin caches content. Clear the cache in HaulHQ > Cache in WordPress, or wait for it to expire. See Plugin settings.

"Test Connection fails but the key looks right."

Copy it again with the copy button rather than selecting it by hand. A truncated key is the usual cause, and it fails identically to a wrong one.
